I discovered the love of running by accident. As i was approaching 40, i realized how fat and unfit i was. i realized that what i do now will have a direct reflection on my quality of life when i'm 50. With that in mind, to improve on my future quality of life, i changed. i made a few major decisions. one major decision was in relation to exercise,i decided to walk for 20 mins everyday. What a struggle. I've always been a headstrong person(even gave up smoking cold turkey 9 years ago),so i maintained my daily walks. It was unbelievable, over time, i could walk faster and increase duration. I joined a local running club called pacesetters and was soon participating in short runs, mainly the 5 K and 10 K events.
